Frequently Asked Questions
What is mead?
One of the oldest fermented beverages in all of history, mead is wine made from honey instead of grapes. Though it is frequently associated with Vikings, mead has been developed across the globe, anywhere that bees were found.
While often created to be a sweet beverage, like any other wine mead can be made anywhere along the Dry-to-Sweet spectrum.
When treated similarly to a white wine and served chilled, mead can be enjoyed with dinner, as a dessert, or on its own.
How is your mead different from others?
We take our inspiration from both historic and contemporary recipes and apply modern techniques to create mead that stands apart from many of the preconceived notions of what honey wine is.
We do not believe that mead must be intensely sweet in order to be enjoyed, and offer a range of options to suit your tastes.
Our mead is available at a wine strength of 12-14% ABV, as well as an easier 9% that can be enjoyed more casually.
Why are you so handsome?
It's the honey, really. And the not taking ourselves too seriously.
