Skot (left) and Noah are the owners and creative minds behind Bumbling Fools.

 

        We do, in fact, bumble about a bit.

But let's back up a little...

We stumbled headlong into mead making in 2019 after simultaneously locking eyes at a party and saying, "... ... we should make mead!" We had both been experimenting with it at the same time, and after trading bottles and trading stories, decided to collaborate. Starting with 20 gallons of honey and four flavors, we tripped over each other quite a bit (but didn't spill a drop of honey on the living room rug... a huge accomplishment!). Tasting parties with friends helped us get more opinions.

 

After a while, we wanted to see how our mead compared with others. We entered the Massachusetts Renaissance Festival Home Brew contest with our Traditional, Two Ravens, and Bee Sting.

Fast forward a little to the spring of 2020. COVID hit. We had both left our jobs. Things seemed pretty bleak. And then the contest results came back.

 

Our Traditional won Best in Show, and the Bee Sting won Best Experimental. (The Two Ravens bottle had broken, unfortunately). We had not expected these results. That was the moment we realized we wanted to share our mead with more people.

 

The name Bumbling Fools was never workshopped; it always fit with who we are. We have our staple products, but we're always experimenting with something new. And we love it when you have a wacky/delicious/outside-the-box idea for a mead commission. Most of all, we're excited that you want to try our bumbling creations.
